5. Professionally clean your carpets: Take advantage of nice weather now to have your home deep cleaned for a fresh winter! You can hire a professional or do it yourself, but depending on how much effort and time you want to spend on your carpets, a professional might be your best option since you have to rent a wet-cleaner machine anyway.
